Sacramento police release composite sketch of man suspected of downtown sexual assault

The Sacramento Police Department has released a composite sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a victim at knifepoint in downtown Sacramento on Tuesday night.

The sketch depicts a man described as black, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5-foot-9 and heavyset.

“Detectives now also believe that the suspect had a tattoo on his left knuckles, and puffy cheeks as seen in the sketch,” according to a police statement.

The assault occurred late Tuesday evening, police said, and the victim met with police in the area of 14th and G streets. Police said the suspect brandished a knife and then sexually assaulted the victim.

The man was described as wearing a black beanie, a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering and black jeans.
