BMW sought after pedestrian is killed in hit-and-run crash on Florin Road, CHP says

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early Thursday morning in the Florin area of Sacramento County, according to the California Highway Patrol, and the driver is at large.

A vehicle struck the man on the right shoulder of eastbound Florin Road near Kara Drive shortly after 2 a.m., according to a news release by the CHP South Sacramento office. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel.

Based on physical evidence, investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a 2002 BMW M3. The sports car likely has moderate or major damage to its right-front end.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
