Suspect accused of stealing hoop earrings off victim’s ears is at large, Davis police say

Davis Police say a suspect remains at large after a Wednesday morning robbery, accused of stealing a victim’s clip-on earrings from her ears and then possibly cutting her before running away.

The incident was reported about 6:15 a.m. near Anderson Road and Alvarado Avenue in north Davis. A female victim parked her vehicle at that location, and as she exited, she was “approached from behind by an unknown male and told not to move,” the Davis Police Department said in a news release.

The male, described only as standing about 5-foot-9, and wearing a dark-colored hoodie, then took the victim’s two gold-colored, 1-inch “hoop style” earrings, the news release said.

During the robbery, the victim shoved the suspect and received a minor cut to her arm from a sharp-edged weapon that he was holding, possibly a knife, the Police Department said.

The suspect fled east on Alvarado Avenue on foot and is still at large as of midday Wednesday, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked contact the department at 530-747-5400.
