Officers arrested three people found with items stolen from a Woodland convenience store after its glass front door was smashed with a rock, police said.

James Saragoza, 33, Nathaniel Madrid, 19, and a male juvenile, all of Woodland, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, the Woodland Police Department announced on Facebook. Police did not release the minor’s name due to his age.

Madrid also was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and criminal conspiracy, police said. The minor, who also faces a criminal conspiracy charge, was released at the scene with a notice to appear in court.

About 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police officers responded to a burglary alarm at Romey’s Gas & Liquor, near Main and West streets. Callers told police that people were seen entering the store before leaving with items.

The officers arrived at the store and detained Saragoza, who was walking away from the store, police said. The officers found the store’s alarm sounding and its glass front door shattered by a rock.

Witnesses reported seeing two other males with Saragoza inside the store at some point during the break-in. Officers then found Madrid and the minor nearby, and both were detained.

Police said the three were positively identified as suspects and each had items stolen from the store. They also said it’s believed Madrid and the minor used the rock to smash the front door.
