Man shot, killed in Sacramento’s Del Paso Heights neighborhood, police say

A man was killed in a late-night shooting in the Del Paso Heights area, the Sacramento Police Department said Tuesday morning.

Homicide detectives are investigating the North Sacramento shooting, which happened shortly after midnight in the 3700 block of Cypress Street, the Police Department said in a news release.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired, and located a man at that location with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect information was released by police.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
