Investigators on Thursday continued to look for the driver of a vehicle that struck two females Wednesday night in North Sacramento and left the scene before police arrived.

The victims, a woman and a female juvenile, were hit by the vehicle and injured, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The hit-and-run incident was reported about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday near Eleanor Avenue and Rio Linda Boulevard, near the boundary separating the Old North Sacramento and South Hagginwood neighborhoods.

Both victims were hospitalized and appeared to have suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police officials on Thursday afternoon did not have a description of the suspect or the vehicle. No further information was available.
