One person dead after vehicle veers off a street and hits tree in Roseville, police say

Roadway fatality

Police were investigating a fatal crash Monday morning after a vehicle veered off a street in Roseville and struck a tree.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 2:15 a.m. in the area of Roseville Parkway and Rocky Ridge Drive, said Sgt. Nick Gaines of the Roseville Police Department. One person died in the crash.

Gaines said there was only one person, an adult, in the vehicle when the crash occurred. He said investigators were still trying to determine who was in the vehicle. No further information about the person who died was available Monday morning.

The Police Department’s Traffic Unit was at the scene investigating the crash, trying to determine what led to the wreck. The road was closed and police initially asked residents to avoid the area as investigators worked at the scene. The Traffic Unit later cleared the scene, and the road has been reopened to traffic.
