Sacramento Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a burglary in the Tahoe Park neighborhood.

On Wednesday morning around 3:30, a prowler broke into a house on the 6200 block of First Avenue, according to the police department. The victim of the burglary fired a gun, and the burglar fled. Officers responded to the scene but couldn’t find the suspect, and no gunshot victims were reported at nearby hospitals.

Later that day around 6 p.m., officers responded to several reports of a man causing disturbances in the neighborhood. Some of those callers suggested the person causing the disturbances was the same man who perpetrated the early morning burglary, according to the department.

Officers detained the man, who was not identified, in the area of 65th Street and 4th Avenue. The department said officers determined he was the suspect in the burglary and placed him under arrest.

The man was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
