Sacramento police investigating overnight burglaries at seven downtown businesses

Police detectives on Wednesday were investigating a string of overnight burglaries at seven businesses all located in four downtown Sacramento blocks.

Officers responded to the reported burglaries, which occurred at some point between Tuesday night and early Wednesday, said Officer Ryan Woo, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department.

The hit businesses are located between J and L streets and between 10th and 12th streets. The string of burglaries included a See’s Candies store on L Street.

Woo said on Wednesday afternoon that investigators did not have any suspect information to release, and detectives were looking for security video that could help them with the investigation. He said the Police Department would be increasing patrols in the area.

Investigators urged anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to call 911 or officers at 916-808-5471. They also asked any witnesses with information about the overnight burglaries to call 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Tips can also be submitted confidentially through the P3 Tips website and app.
