Sacramento police are investigating a shooting in which a man was killed in midtown
Sacramento police continued Saturday to investigate a midtown shooting that left one man dead.
The shooting occurred just after 10:45 p.m. Friday near 20th Street and K Street, the Police Department stated in a news release.
Responding officers found one man in the street suffering at least one gunshot wound. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police officials said that detectives and crime scene investigators will be canvassing the area for potential witnesses and evidence.
Although investigators are unsure of the exact motive, police said that there was “some type of disturbance between two groups that escalated into the shooting.”
Information pertaining to any potential suspects was unavailable.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after his next of kin is notified.
