Man shot and killed in Sacramento County near Parkway, Sheriff’s Office says
A man was shot and killed Saturday evening in Sacramento County near the Parkway neighborhood, authorities said.
In a news release, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office stated that dispatchers were called at 4:59 p.m. to report a shooting in the 7300 block of Berna Way.
The caller told law enforcement that a man was lying in the roadway.
Deputies found the man suffering at least one gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures. Fire personnel arrived and took him to the hospital, but he died on the way, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Homicide detectives believe the fatal shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The Sheriff’s Office did not have information on any potential suspects.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after his next of kin are notified.
