Sacramento deputies investigate drive-by shooting that wounded man in Carmichael
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that wounded a man early Monday in a neighborhood in Carmichael.
The shooting was reported about 5:40 a.m. on Hackberry Lane, just north of Madison Avenue. Deputies arrived and found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his lower body, said Sgt. Kionna Rowe, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
The wounded man told deputies that an unknown vehicle stopped in the street, then shots were fired from the vehicle before the vehicle left the area, Rowe said.
Paramedics arrived and took the man to a hospital to treat his injuries, which were not life-threatening. Rowe said deputies canvassed the area and spoke to witnesses. Investigators did not have any suspect descriptions to release Monday morning.
