Homicide detectives on Monday were asking the public to help find a suspect in the death of a Sacramento man who was shot while inside a vehicle earlier this month in an Arden Arcade intersection.

The detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Josiah Isaac Dempsey, 18, on suspicion of homicide in the shooting death of 55-year-old Tommie Timmons, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon in a news release.

Dempsey was described as 5-feet-8 and weighing 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Sheriff’s officials said Dempsey should be “considered armed and dangerous.”

The detectives also were looking for Michaela Jalizah Gospel, 27, of Sacramento County. Sheriff’s officials said Gospel is considered a person of interest in the homicide investigation and is wanted on an arrest warrant in an unrelated case. She was described as 5-feet-2 and weighing 139 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a small tattoo of the letter “T” on her right collar bone area.

The fatal shooting was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Sept. 3 at the intersection of Fulton and Trade Wind avenues, just south of Alta Arden Expressway. A caller told authorities that a shooting had just occurred and a man had been shot inside of a vehicle.

Deputies arrived and found the injured man, later identified as Timmons, who had suffered at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. Deputies attempted life-saving measures until medics arrived a short time later and pronounced Timmons dead at the scene.

Detectives asked anyone who knows the whereabouts of Dempsey or Gospel or has information about this fatal shooting to call the Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357.
