A man accused in a 2019 ambush execution at a south Sacramento fast-food restaurant was convicted Friday of first-degree murder.

Sacramento County Superior Court jurors delivered the guilty verdict against Isaiah Frazier before Judge Steve White, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Frazier, 25, remains at Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center near Elk Grove as he awaits an Oct. 28 sentencing hearing. He faces 81 years to life in prison for the killing of Nehemiah Barksdale, 28, at the McDonald’s at 4124 Florin Road.

Sacramento County prosecutors argued that early on the morning of Dec. 27, 2019, Frazier donned a disguise and walked up to a car at the restaurant’s drive-through where his target was sitting in the passenger seat and opened fire.

Frazier fired seven shots, prosecutors said, striking Barksdale four times.

Barksdale was taken to a hospital, where he died. Investigators said they found a “ghost” Glock handgun used in the ambush.

Jurors on Friday also found true an allegation that Frazier used a firearm in commission of a crime, causing great bodily injury. An allegation of Frazier’s prior sentencing strike for participating in a street gang will be determined at the Oct. 28 hearing.
