Man shot, killed in vehicle in Sacramento’s Parkway neighborhood, police say
A man was shot and killed while in a vehicle Sunday afternoon in Sacramento’s Parkway neighborhood, police said.
Officers first responded shortly after noon to the area of Phoenix Park Drive and Savannah Lane for reports of a vehicle that had crashed into a fence, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release.
Police found a man in the driver’s seat with at least one gunshot wound. Officers and Sacramento Fire Department personnel rendered medical aid, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.
Homicide detectives are investigating, the Police Department said, but no suspect information was available.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
