UPDATE: Man, woman found dead in Granite Bay home prompts homicide investigation, Placer sheriff says

A man was detained Monday in Granite Bay after deputies began investigating “suspicious circumstances” that prompted area residents to shelter-in-place, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies were called just after 8 a.m. Monday to a home at Lou Place and Oak Leaf Way for a caller reported “suspicious circumstances,” a release said.

It’s unclear what the man is accused of and what prompted deputies to begin investigating. Elise Soviar, a spokeswoman for the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, did not immediately answer these questions.
