An employee at a medical facility in southern Sacramento County was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting patients, including at least one child, authorities said.

Patients at a medical facility on the 100 block of F Street in Galt reported the sexual assaults to police, according to a news release from the Galt Police Department.

Detectives began investigating the case and said evidence connected a 23-year-old Stockton man to the abuse. The man was suspended from his duties after the allegations came to light, police said.

The suspect was arrested Monday at his residence and booked into downtown Sacramento County Main Jail. He faces a felony charge of lewd acts on a child under 14 using force, violence or duress and a misdemeanor charge of elder abuse, according to online jail records.

He is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail and is scheduled to appear Thursday in Sacramento Superior Court for his first hearing.

The Galt Police Department urged residents with more information about this case to contact their communications center at 209-366-7000. Callers are asked to refer to Galt police case No. 25-181.
