A motorcyclist on a Harley-Davidson died after a crash with a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle early Sunday in the small town of Esparto in Yolo County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported about 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the westbound lane of Highway 16, just east of Parker Place on the north end of an Esparto residential neighborhood, the CHP Woodland Area Office announced Monday morning in a news release.
The CHP said investigating officers believe the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading west on the highway behind the Chevrolet SUV when the crash occurred.
The deadly crash on Monday remained under investigation to determine its cause, the CHP said.
The motorcyclist died from injuries suffered in the two-vehicle crash. The CHP did not provide any other details about the motorcyclist.
The Yolo County Coroner’s Office will release the motorcyclist’s name, age and city of residence after that family has been notified.
The CHP said investigators had not determined whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the fatal crash.
Investigators asked anyone with information about this fatal crash to call the CHP Woodland Area office at 530-702-6250.
