Detectives on Tuesday arrested a man suspected in a February hit-and-run crash in Sacramento that seriously injured the driver of another vehicle.

The 31-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing permanent injury, the Sacramento Police Department announced Wednesday afternoon in a news release.

The suspect was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he remained in custody Wednesday. He was being held without bail and is scheduled to appear for his arraignment Thursday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court.

The vehicle crash occurred Feb. 1 near the intersection of Club Center Drive and Natomas Boulevard in a residential area of the Natomas Park neighborhood. Police said one driver was seriously injured in the crash, and the driver in the other vehicle left before authorities arrived.

The hit-and-run crash investigation was forwarded to the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives, who followed up on leads. Police said the detectives later identified the suspect vehicle and its driver. The detectives obtained an arrest warrant and arrested the suspect Tuesday.
