Man, 33, arrested after allegedly stabbing man in west Roseville, fleeing in BMW
A man was arrested Sunday in Sacramento after fleeing the scene of an alleged stabbing in west Roseville that left another man wounded the day before.
James Nunley, 33, was arrested near the intersection of West El Camino Avenue and Orchard Lane, according to Placer County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Elise Soviar. He was booked into the South Placer Jail at 4:21 p.m. Sunday, online records showed, and was being held without bail.
Sheriff’s deputies had arrived at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday at the scene of a reported assault in a home on Vandenberg Circle in west Roseville, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday. The victim appeared to have been stabbed in his cheek. He was stabbed once, taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, Soviar said.
The suspect, whom authorities identified as Nunley, fled in a black BMW according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and detectives conducted an investigation and located Nunley the next day in the Willowcreek neighborhood, where Sacramento Police Department officers arrested him just before 1 p.m. Sunday, the news release said.
Nunley was charged with two felony counts — assault with a deadly weapon and threats to commit crimes resulting in death — and was arraigned in Placer Superior Court at 1 p.m. Tuesday, online court records showed.
