A 34-year-old man, who had been in critical condition at a hospital, has died from injuries he suffered early Sunday in a shooting at an Elk Grove nightclub.
The Elk Grove Police Department announced Thursday afternoon the death of the second of four victims in the shooting at the Z Town Asian Gastro Bar. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Phuc Minh Vo, 34, of San Jose.
Kim Kha Huynh, 18, of Chino Hills, about 35 miles east of Los Angeles, was shot dead inside the nightclub in the 8400 block of Elk Grove Florin Road. Police said two other men wounded in the shooting have since been released from the hospital.
Investigators have identified Roderick Bernard Randall, 43, as the shooting suspect. Police said on Thursday that detectives were still looking for Randall who remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after what police said was an apparent argument at the nightclub between Randall and one of the shooting victims. Police said on Wednesday that the investigators did not know the relationship between Randall and the victims.
Police described Randall as 5-foot-7 and 173 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. California Department of Justice officials have said Randall is known to use the aliases Roderick Brian Randall and Fatso Irving.
Police this week also arrested Randall’s girlfriend, 25-year-old Thao Kim Tran, who is accused of being an accessory to the crime. She faces an additional charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail logs. However, records show that Tran was released Thursday; the status of her expected arraignment Thursday was not known.
Detectives asked anyone with information regarding Randall’s whereabouts or details relevant to the homicide investigation to call the Police Department at 916-714-5115.
