Man injured in afternoon shooting in Fair Oaks, Sacramento sheriff says

Update: On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office said it released the detained individual.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported a shooting Saturday afternoon in Fair Oaks.

A 47-year-old man was shot near the 8800 block of North Winding Way, according to Sgt. Alex Zakrzewski. Another person was detained at the scene; however, that person’s involvement is unclear, Zakrzewski said.

The person who was shot suffered several gunshot wounds, according to Zakrzewski, and was sent to the hospital.

Neither the victim nor the detained person were identified by Zakrzewski.
