Eastbound I-80 shut down after pursuit ends in shooting in Citrus Heights

Eastbound Interstate 80 is closed after a pursuit stemming from a domestic violence call ended in an officer-involved shooting, according to an 11 a.m. Sunday news alert from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the suspect fled the scene of the domestic violence call before they located the vehicle near Greenback Lane and Antelope Road in Citrus Heights. An officer-involved shooting occurred after deputies found the suspect.

Sgt. Edward Igoe said all officers involved in the situation are okay, but the suspect has died.

Eastbound Interstate 80 is closed at Greenback Lane, officials said.
