Homicide investigation underway after fatal stabbing in Davis
A homicide investigation is underway on Cantrill Drive, according to the Davis Police Department.
Officers responded after the Davis Fire Department requested assistance on a medical aid call on Sunday morning.
When officers arrived, they found a victim who had suffered apparent stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police identified the suspect as Maxie Smith, who is related to the victim. Smith was booked into the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Authorities said the scene has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
