Update: Man killed in vehicle-on-pedestrian crash in south Sacramento identified by coroner

Update: The coroner’s office has identified the victim as Yia Thao, a 36-year-old Sacramento man.

A pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision early Monday morning in the south Sacramento area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly after 5 a.m. in the area of 55th Street and Florin Road in Parkway Estates, just east of Highway 99, according to the CHP incident log.

Roadways in the area had reopened fully to traffic as of 7 a.m., according to the incident log.

No other details on the fatal collision were immediately available.
