Yolo County invites Esparto residents to weigh in on traffic improvements

Yolo County News

Yolo County will host a community event next month in Esparto to discuss potential traffic improvements near the intersection of Yolo and Woodland avenues along Highway 16.

According to a news release, county transportation officials identified the location as “an area of concern due to crashes involving people walking.”

The event, a community walking audit, will take place at 9 a.m. Aug. 22 at Mercy Housing’s Esperanza Crossing, 16797 County Road 87.

The event will include an overview, survey and guided walk. After the walk, attendees will discuss potential traffic safety improvements with representatives from Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol, local fire and school districts, as well as several Yolo County agencies including public works, transportation and the county Board of Supervisors.

The event is part of Yolo County’s traffic safety program, which is funded by state and federal highway safety grants.
