Cat’s world ‘turned upside down’ when owner, companion cat die. Meet Bella
A senior cat at a New York shelter is more than ready for a new home and a new owner to dote on her after having her heart broken in the wake of two important deaths.
Bella, a 9-year-old domestic shorthair with an orange cream tint, was brought into the Lollypop Farm, a Humane Society in Fairport, after her caretaker died. And unfortunately, the soul shattering didn’t stop there.
“(Bella) was brought in with her bonded feline friend, Rocky, but he was facing some medical challenges and sadly did not make it,” Lollypop Farm said in a July 31 Facebook post.
“Now, this poor sweetheart’s whole world has been turned upside down. Despite these unfortunate events, Bella has remained a sweet soul.”
According to her profile on Lollypop Farm, Bella is a “larger lady” with a “majestic presence” and is selective about her fellow feline friends.
“Bella takes her time to warm up to new people, flourishing best in a tranquil household,” her profile says.
“She enjoys receiving occasional head scratches, burrowing in soft blankets, and being spoken to in calming, soothing tones. Bella delights in treats like Churu and engages playfully with wand toys. This serene and dignified cat seeks a peaceful forever home where she can feel secure and loved at her own pace.”
The shelter goes on to say on Facebook that although it doesn’t enjoy sharing such sorrowful stories, Bella is a special case and needs a home “as soon as possible so she can begin her healing journey.”

Fairport is in the Rochester area.
