A Michigan man said playing his usual lottery numbers paid off in a big way.

The 54-year-old man played the Lotto 47 lottery game at a store in Taylor, according to a Feb. 19 news release from the Michigan Lottery.

The man matched the game’s six numbers for the Jan. 8 drawing. He said they have been his go-to numbers for years.

“I have played this set of numbers for four years,” he told lottery officials.

The winning numbers won the man the $1.3 million jackpot.

“I scanned my ticket on the Lottery app and saw the confetti fly and thought: ‘This is a dream come true.’ Winning is a great feeling and gives me and my family financial freedom,” he said.

The man chose to receive a one-time lump sum of $901,000. He said he plans to pay bills and take a long family vacation.

Taylor is about a 20-mile drive southwest of Detroit.
