Lottery player’s screams cause startled driver to pull over. But it was good news
An Arkansas lottery player had a feeling — so she tested her luck by purchasing a more expensive lottery ticket.
She bought the $20 ticket, $50,000 Frenzy, and began to scratch it off in the car as her friend drove her home.
The Lafayette County woman saw a dollar sign and continued scratching.
Then, she screamed.
The lottery player had just revealed a $50,000 prize, Arkansas lottery officials said in a March 4 news release.
“I just freaked out; I wasn’t expecting it,” she told officials.
Her friend in the driver’s seat was startled, so she pulled over to see what was wrong.
The friend felt a wave of relief when her passenger shared the good news.
Now, the winner plans to use the cash to pay off her debt and save, she told officials. She also has plans to play more lottery games.
Lafayette County is a 145-mile drive southwest from Little Rock.
