The U.S. Congress will meet Wednesday to count Electoral College votes for president, a process that is typically routine but could be dramatic this year.
Election officials throughout the Sacramento region certified local results early last month. Here are the precincts in each county where Trump and Biden scored the most lopsided victories, excluding precincts with fewer than 500 voters.

Sacramento County
Top precinct for Biden — 41240 — central Sacramento
Most of the voters in this weirdly shaped precinct live in the neighborhoods of New Era Park and Boulevard Park, just north of Midtown Sacramento. The majority of residents are in their 20s or 30s, census data show.
Biden earned about 88% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 10% for Trump.
Households in the tracts surrounding this precinct tend to make less money than the countywide median, census data show. The area has a larger proportion of nonwhite residents than the rest of the county.
Top precinct for Trump — 699964 — Herald
Trump did well in many rural sections of Sacramento County, including the southeast portion of the county that covers the community of Herald.
Trump earned about 68% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 30% for Biden.
Households in the tracts surrounding the precinct tend to be wealthier than the countywide median, census data show. The area has a larger proportion of white residents than the rest of the county. The median age of its residents is higher than the countywide median.
Placer County
Top precinct for Biden — 160615 — central Roseville
Placer County remains a pretty conservative place. The only areas of the county that went overwhelmingly for Biden were around Lake Tahoe.
Excluding the Tahoe area, the precinct where Biden performed best is just west of downtown Roseville, near the county fairgrounds.
Biden earned about 51% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 45% for Trump.
The residents of this precinct tend to be younger and more ethnically diverse than the rest of Placer County. They also tend to make less money than the countywide median, census data show.
Top precinct for Trump — 261207 — Kilaga Springs
This rural section of Placer County sits about eight miles north of Lincoln. It gave Trump his most lopsided victory in the Sacramento area.
Trump earned about 72% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 25% for Biden.
Households in the tracts surrounding the precinct tend to earn a little more than the countywide median, census data show. About 85% of the area’s residents are white. The median age of its residents is higher than the countywide median.
Yolo County
Top precinct for Biden — 13 — UC Davis
UC Davis students gave Joe Biden his most overwhelming victory in the Sacramento area.
Biden earned about 88% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 7% for Trump.
The median age in the tract surrounding the precinct is 19. Asians were the largest ethnic group in the area. Like college students everywhere, the residents of this area aren’t big earners. The median household income is about $25,000.
Top precinct for Trump — 51 — Merritt
Woodland and Davis went heavily for Biden, but the rural area between the two towns voted Trump.
Trump earned about 58% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 40% for Biden.
Households in the census tract surrounding the precinct tend to earn much more than the countywide median, census data show. Most of the area’s residents are white. The median age is higher than the countywide median.
El Dorado County
Top precinct for Biden — 128-05 — Serrano
As in Placer County, the area around Lake Tahoe went heavily for Biden.
Outside of the Tahoe area, the precinct that Biden won most convincingly was in eastern El Dorado Hills, near Bella Terra Park in the wealthy Serrano Parkway section of town.
Biden earned about 53% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 44% for Trump.
The median age in the tract surrounding the precinct is 40. Whites and Asians are the largest ethnic groups in the area. This is one of the wealthiest areas in the region, with a median household income of about $163,000.
Some surrounding area in the Serrano community went for Trump.
Top precinct for Trump — 430-36 — Rescue
Residents of the rural community of Rescue tend to be older than the rest of El Dorado County. About 71% of residents are white. Their incomes tend to be higher than the countywide median.
Trump earned about 70% of the votes cast in this precinct, compared to 25% for Biden.
