Ski resorts across Northern California are preparing to open for the 2025-26 winter season, with several Tahoe-area destinations announcing projected opening dates.
Resorts from South Lake Tahoe to Truckee are planning to welcome skiers and snowboarders as early as mid-November, depending on snow conditions. With storm systems approaching the Sierra Nevada, resort operators caution that opening dates may change based on weather.

- Boreal Mountain Resort: Nov. 21
- Heavenly Ski Resort: Nov. 21

- Bear Valley Mountain Resort: Nov. 22 or 28, permitting weather
- Palisades Tahoe: Nov. 26
- Granlibakken Tahoe: Nov. 27
