The Golden State Warriors, apparently nervous that their arena is about to turn into Golden 1 Center West, will not allow cowbells inside Chase Center for tonight’s pivotal third game of the opening-round NBA playoff series between the Warriors and Sacramento Kings.

Don’t worry, Kings fans. There’s an app for that.

The Kings added a cowbell feature to their app a few years ago, part of a series of technological initiatives driven by an ownership group with strong Silicon Valley roots.

Once you download the app, tap the “Launch Cowbell” feature on the main menu and you’ll be ready to go.

The cowbell feature on the app isn’t quite as loud as the real thing. But for those Kings fans heading to San Francisco’s Chase Center, it will have to do (just don’t engage in any excessive standing while shaking your phone).

Cowbells are listed among the items prohibited at Chase Center, along with air horns, whistles and drums.

For their part, the Kings also prohibit air horns, whistles, drums and other noise makers inside Golden 1 Center for home games. However, they do allow cowbells for games.

The Kings hold a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series over the defending NBA champions. Game 3 tips off at 7 p.m. Thursday. Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday at Chase Center.
