A cheat sheet for the Sacramento-area House race between Ami Bera, Scott Jones
Voters in the Sacramento suburbs once again are the focus of a mega-fight for the U.S. House, the super competitive 7th Congressional District race that every two years features millions in outside campaign spending from Republican- and Democratic-aligned groups. This year, Rep. Ami Bera, D-Elk Grove, is seeking a third term in such a battle, facing Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones, a Republican.
In a barrage of television ads, both sides have been hit with stinging character attacks and questions over their policy choices. It all makes the race pretty difficult to sort out.
Here’s a quick guide to the House race, with the candidates’ position on issues, links to the one and only debate, and coverage of the controversies from The Bee.
