An avid Maryland lottery player often suggests others try their hand at lottery games.

Heeding her advice, some found themselves claiming prizes, Maryland Lottery officials said in a March 11 news release.

Their wins left the woman longing.

“When am I going to win?” the woman told lottery officials she thought to herself.

Little did she know, “her days of pondering that question” would soon be over.

In January, the Waldorf woman bought a $10 Mega Bucks ticket, lottery officials said.

Even though it wasn’t a winner, she told lottery officials her hope remained.

“Something said, go back tomorrow and try again,” she told lottery officials.

Listening to that “something,” she bought two more Mega Bucks scratch-off tickets at a Capitol Heights pub, lottery officials said.

She scratched the tickets in the store and “knew right away” her dreams of a “big score” had finally come true, lottery officials said.

“First, the bonus revealed a $100 win,” the winner told lottery officials. “And then, all of my numbers matched all the winning numbers, plus I had a few ‘money bag’ symbols.”

The woman’s ticket had winning amounts on every line, which came with a $50,000 prize, lottery officials said.

Even after the store owner confirmed her prize, she scanned her ticket many more times, just to be certain of her big win, according to lottery officials.

“Filled with glee,” the woman told lottery officials she called her sister to tell her the news and “then went to her boyfriend’s house to tell him.”

Waldorf is about a 50-mile drive southwest from Baltimore.
