After six people were killed and 12 injured in a downtown Sacramento shooting early Sunday morning, politicians, activists, social groups and other prominent figures echoed a feeling of grief and heartache.
The shooting, which happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday near 10th and K streets, was the second mass causality shooting in the Sacramento area in barely a month.
On Twitter, those watching the news unfold repeated: “Again.” “Another.”
Some asked: “How many more?”
Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a statement early Sunday, saying “sadly, we once again mourn the lives lost and for those injured in yet another horrendous act of gun violence.“
