Downtown Sacramento is struggling to fill the void left by the tens of thousands of people now working from home. But business is getting a boost from crowds returning to events at Golden 1 Center like “Hamilton” and Kings games.

After more than a year of the coronavirus pandemic forcing postponements and cancellations, rescheduling and more postponements, large events are coming back, including at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center.
The indoor venue that seats more than 17,000 in downtown Sacramento is not only home to the Sacramento Kings, but also plays host to major concerts and other performances. Here’s a look at what’s coming to the venue and how to get tickets. A
And don’t forget: everyone attending events needs to bring proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test no older than 48 hours, and all guests must wear masks.
Sports
Basketball is back: the Sacramento Kings regular season home opener is Oct. 22 against the Utah Jazz, with tickets starting at $46. The Kings also take on the Golden State Warriors Oct. 24. Those tickets start at $82.
Music
A ton of major musical acts are coming to Golden 1 Center in the coming months. Many of those include rescheduled shows for which people who bought tickets won’t need to repurchase. Here are the highlights.
- Renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli will bring his Believe tour to Sacramento at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 23. Tickets start at $79.
- Harry Styles will bring his rescheduled Love on Tour show to Sacramento at 8 p.m. Nov. 10. Anyone who bought tickets before the tour was rescheduled will be able to use those tickets to attend the show, with no action needed on their part in order to ensure their ticket will be valid. Very few tickets for this show remain, and those that do cost more than $700.
- The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will bring their famous rock Christmas music to Sacramento for two concerts at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3. Tickets start at $35.
- Soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band the Foo Fighters will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. Dec. 7 in Sacramento. Tickets start at $69.
- V101.1’s Heart of Hip Hop event featuring acts like Fat Joe and J.J. Fad kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11. This is another rescheduled event, so if you already bought a ticket intending to go at a previously announced date, you’re set for the Dec. 11 show. Otherwise, tickets start at $40.
- Singer, dancer and internet start JoJo Siwa will bring her Nickelodeon D.R.E.A.M. show at 7 p.m. Jan. 18. This is another rescheduled event. If you don’t have tickets yet, they start at $35.
- Justin Bieber’s rescheduled tour comes to Golden 1 Center at 7:30 p.m. March 4. Currently held tickets are still valid, but if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, they start at $89.50.
- Then comes The Weeknd, who will perform his rescheduled After Hours Tour at 7 p.m. March 6. Tickets start at $75.75.
- And in what will surely be one of the most highly anticipated concerts of the season, Billie Eilish will perform her sold out Happier than Ever tour in a concert that starts at 7:30 p.m. March 30.
Disney on Ice, monster trucks and more
In addition to the Kings and concerts, Golden 1 Center will also host a variety of entertaining events ranging from a comedy show to professional bull riding. Take a look at what’s on deck.
- Beginning Oct. 28, Disney on Ice will perform several shows celebrating its beloved characters including Mickey and Minnie, Olaf from the movie Frozen and the Disney princesses. Tickets start at $30.
- Comedian Gabriel Iglesias will perform his stand-up routine at 8 p.m. Nov. 26. This is a rescheduled show, so current ticketholders are set. There are still plenty of seats left though, and they start at $45.
- The Harlem Globetrotters are doing two shows in Sacramento, one at 1 p.m. and another at 6 p.m. Jan. 17. Tickets start at $15.
- Monster Jam will come to Sacramento for three monster truck shows in January. The shows start at 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 and 22, and 1 p.m. on Jan. 23. Tickets start at $20.
- Check out Professional Bull Riders in three shows at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 28, 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 1 p.m. on Jan. 30.
