A record 145,000 fans attended the sold-out Aftershock Festival in Discovery Park in Sacramento during rock extravaganza’s four-day run, according to Sacramento County officials.

And if you’re one of those attendees already looking forward to next year’s event, pencil this in on your calendar: The festival will return to Discovery Park the weekend of October 6-9, 2022, county officials announced in a Thursday news release.

“Each year, Aftershock draws people from all over the country and gives us the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing amenities of the Sacramento County Regional Parks system,” Liz Bellas, director of regional parks, said in the release. “We are glad that we were once again able to safely host this event at Discovery Park and look forward to next year’s event!”

Aftershock returned Oct. 7 after COVID-19 forced the cancellation of 2020’s concert fest. The event brought in an estimated $30 million to the local economy, according to Visit Sacramento. Around 75% of those who attended came to the event from outside the region, according to the news release.
